About our Founder, Mandy Schutt
Hi I’m Mandy Schutt! I was originally born in Germany, I am a mother of two kids and just recently became a grandma. Being a former model and competitive athlete, staying fit has always been a passion of mine. After suffering various sports injuries and of course let’s not forget the inevitable part of “aging” joints, I was forced to drastically cut back on most sports, including running. I knew I had to find something that gives me that “runners high” and keeps me challenged because I get bored very easily and am not a big fan of monotony.
I decided to try spinning. I was very nervous and intimidated at my first class. I remember thinking, how on earth can I remember all these different positions and try to look as graceful as the instructor and the experienced spinners. Luckily, the lights went off which gave me the chance to feel invincible. It was love at first spin. I fell in love with the studio, the workout, the instructors and riders and ended up purchasing the studio last year after Jennifer announced its pending closure. Fast forward one year later and we are expanding, moving to a new building, doubling the space and ranking consistently high as the most popular spin class studio in our area. We all come from different backgrounds, different reasons for working out.
Some come to:
- challenge themselves
- to relieve stress (it really works)
- take a break from the kids/husband/wife (yes it’s okay to do that)
- to stay fit
- on doctors orders (spinning is low impact, great for aging joints, and a superior cardio workout to improve heart health among other health benefits.
Spinning has turned my life around. Not only did I drop 20 pounds and manage to keep it off, but it has been such a great stress reliever with the added benefit of burning tons of calories and carbs. I sleep better, make better food choices (for the most part) and feel fantastic. We have a warm and welcoming community, which makes for a family like atmosphere. I am so grateful for the wonderful instructors (who are the best in town), and also the friends a/k/a riders I have met and continue to meet throughout my journey. Looking forward to many more rides with you all!
This is where I got today by riding a bike that goes nowhere. Where will the bike take you?
